Sucker rod coupling is used to connect two sucker rods. The grade is API Grade T.
Spray metal couplings are better in anti-corrosion than common sucker rod couplings.
Slim hole and full size couplings are available.
Sub-couplings
Sub-couplings have different sizes of box threads in each end and are used for connecting two sizes of sucker rods or a polished rod to a sucker rod string. Sub-couplings may be used on sucker rods or polished rods
Class T and Class SM coupling for sucker rods are manufactured as per API Specification 11B. For the thread cutting, we are using cold form rolled by displacing rather than by removing of material for making the coupling thread. The thread rolling cutting results in a compressive stress at the root of the thread, giving maximum strength to the traditional weak point of cut-thread couplings.
Polished rod couplings are designed for connecting polished rod to the top rod of the string. Contrary to rod couplings, polished rod couplings have a female cone that eliminates the coupling twist-off in the course of operation.
