Crossover Sub is manufactured from 4145H. The connections are protected by a phosphate surface coating that reducing the galling when the initial make-up takes place. Sub is manufactured according to API 7-1 Specification.

Straight Sub
Straight Sub is used to connect drilling string components that have a similar outside diameter.
Reduced Sub
Reduced Sub is used to connect drilling string components that have different diameters that warrant the cross-sectional change necessary to accommodate different connections. This sub would be used to crossover large OD drilling tools or a tapered drill collar string.
Saver Sub
Saver Sub is used to extend the life of the kelly by taking the connection wear each time it is made up to a drill stem component.
Bit sub
Bit subs are used to connect the drill bit to the next piece of equipment in the BHA. Because drill bits are "pin up" and all other drilling components are typically "pin down", the bit sub functions as a crossover for BHA attachment.
Kelly saver sub
Kelly saver subs ,placed between the kelly and the drill string, this sub is used to extend the life of the kelly by limiting the number of times it's pin connection is made up to the drill string. This saver sub provides a connection between the pin end of the kelly to the box end of the drill string such that the repetitious connecting of drill pipe is absorbed by this sacrificial saver sub
